"When the Church Stops Caring" was released by Trafford Publishing in August, 2005.  The book was written by Beth Murray -- Registered Psychologist in the province of Alberta and former Pastor of Care Ministries at Beulah Alliance Church in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

About the Book

Have you ever been involved in church and not felt cared for?  Have you been frustrated by the apparent lack of love and concern within the church community?  Come on an investigative journey into the world of Christian care.

Beth Murray takes an in depth look at the crisis of care ministries in the church.  She defines care, looks into reclaiming "Christian hospitality," examines issues of cultural relevance and pulls out four levels of care as defined in scripture.  Building on these four levels, Murray presents ways to build care, love and concern into the Christian community.  This is a transformational work regarding the need to resurrect and revamp how we do "care" in the church.

Murray combines humour, inspiration, Biblical scholarship, psychological principles and a caring lens to address the present crises related to care in the North American church.  The book is engaging, challenging and provocative--hopefully it will prompt life change and creativity in how you view God, yourself, family, friends, strangers and the body of Christ--the Christian church.
